Make ramps to experiment on speeds from different heights

Dramatic play area:  suitcases & things they might pack. 

Large Group


Walk in neighborhood.  Search for signs & signals.
Set up bus depot.
Use chairs with an aisle for bus.  Have drivers and passengers, tickets, hole punches.  Announce streets
Globe and books and pictures of places in world.  “Where would you sail to?”
Pictures of sail boats, row boats, cruise ships, etc.
Train station similar to Tues bus depot.
Same props and roles.  Announce towns.
Plane seats with aisle as Tues & Thur.  Have tickets with numbers and chairs with numbers to find their seats on the plane

Small Group


Walk in neighborhood.  Search for signs & signals.
Remote control car.  Discuss cars have motors, wheels…other similarities
Make edible sail boat.  Orange slice, pretzel stick, triangle cheese slices
Egg carton trains, paint, buttons, glue, etc.
Paper planes and paper towel roll planes with poster board wings
Outdoor Experiences:  Walk , find signs/  Red Light-Green Light /                                Chug, chug as train/ Helium balloons                                 
Family Partnership:  Send home newsletter about the month’s them.  Lend families books.  Suggest books they could get at the library.  Suggest questions they might ask about the day’s activities.
